Both seasons starred Ayako Kawasumi as Megumi "Nodame" Noda and Tomokazu Seki as Shinichi Chiaki. The first season, called just Nodame Cantabile, was directed by Kenichi Kasai and the second season, called Nodame Cantabile: Paris Chapter, by Chiaki Kon.

At first, he only tries to help her minimally because he thinks he is hallucinating. One summer day, the ghost of an older-looking Menma appears beside him and asks to have a wish granted, reasoning that she cannot pass on into the afterlife until it is fulfilled. Years after the incident, the leader of the group, Jinta Yadomi, has withdrawn from society, does not attend high school, and lives as a recluse. I still highly recommend this series to the fan of the series or those that love romantic comedy and classical music. As much as I love Nodame Cantabile, I struggle a little to finish this season. I don’t think you would have missed anything if you go from the first season to the final season. This season fill more like a filler than anything. Neither seems to have developed more than what was already shown at the end of that season.
The location had changed from Japan to Europe, and most of the quirkier characters got left behind in Japan.Ĭhiaki and Nodame relationship seem to be as vague as the first season. The second season is more of what you love from the first season, minus any new character development. However, the 3D CGI is pretty apparent and prominent. The first season blended the art and 3D CGI seamlessly. I hate to admit it, but I find the art for the second season of Nodame Cantabile had gotten worst and lazier.
